George, mum's brother features prominently in the albums. Here are a couple of pages from the mid 1930s. George was a fine sportsman and excelled at cricket and other sports. The photo on the bottom left of the second page taken in 1935 at a cadet camp is just seven years before George was involved in the pivotal battle of El-Alamein. The bottom centre photo of the first page shows George going up to Cambridge where he obtained a double first.

Early photos: This one is the oldest photo in the collection and must date from around 1890, it is of mum's father, George.

The photo below is from about 1910. Rather liberated Edwardian times allowed an engaged couple to go on holiday in Jersey, unchaperoned. The future Mr. And Mrs. Greenfield are sitting at the back of the carriage.

Going back a generation to the great-great grandparents. The baby is Nancy and the photo must date to 1914/15
